Waila Festival, Inc. is a 501(C)(3) Nonprofit Organization incorporated in the state of Arizona which was formed by members of the Gila River Business Owners Association and the Waila Festival Planning Committee.  It was created specifically to give a deeper meaning and purpose for having the Annual WailaFest for the O'odham Communities in Arizona. To provide academic scholarships to Students from the Four Sister Tribes (Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, Gila River Indian Community, Ak-Chin Indian Community, Tohono O'odham Nation) who are pursuing a higher education.  And to help preserve the Culture & Traditions of the Four Sister Tribe Communities.

On November 28, 2015, the first Sister Tribes Academic Reward Scholarships (STAR Scholarship) were awarded to qualified O'odham Students attending colleges and universities in the state of Arizona. This was a small tribute to their hard work.
